Measuring Heads

My four-year-old and I have some of our most meaningful conversations as he has his last pee for the night and I sit across from him on a teensy tiny red stool.

The other night, he looked at me carefully for a very long time and then said, "How big is your head?"

I said, "I'm not sure."

He said, "Let's measure it."

"Measure my head?"

"Like this..." he said and he very slowly leaned forward until his forehead gently pressed against mine. Our noses touched. His big green eyes stared into mine. His lashes brushed my glasses as he blinked.

Then he concluded, "Pretty big."
