My husband and I are both home with our kids during the summer vacation. When the kids were babies, I often felt that although we were both home, the child-minding duties were inequally distributed. I sometimes felt I was shouldering more diaper-changes and bed-time rituals.
Today, just before supper, my son announced that Amelia had had a poop. In the very instant that I heard those words, I felt relief. Thank GOODNESS, I said to myself, she hasn't had one all day!
And out of my husband's mouth came these words, "AMELIA! That's the FOURTH ONE TODAY!"
I smiled to myself.
We've come so far.
