Getaway

Mark and I left Cole for the first time when he wasn't quite 5 months old. We left him in the capable hands of Joann, with nothing but an assortment of bottles and little baggies of breastmilk and some formula. We escaped safely to Niagara Falls for a night of romantic dinners, views of the falls, jacuzzis and then anxious sleeplessness.

After 17 hours of stubborness (somewhere in the milddle, she had the patience to eye-dropper feed him 3 ounces of milk), he finally decided the bottle was a viable option. When we arrived home, we continued the battle. You'd think that once he showed he could take a bottle, the battle would be over. Not so. Every feeding is a battle. But it's a battle that we finally know we can win.
