Snuggle Bunny

One of the very first gifts Nana brought on a visit to see Cole when he was a baby was a big blue stuffed dog that somehow came to be known as Blue Bear.

Amelia is about to turn one and Nana said she was plagued with guilt at the idea that she hadn't bought Amelia a Blue-Bear type of plush toy.  So she went to the same company from which she'd purchased Blue Bear and she ordered a big fuzzy bunny, thinking she could just carry it on the plane on this visit to see us. The catalogue indicated the rabbit was 30 inches.

When she received the snuggly bunny in the mail, she took one look and knew she couldn't carry it on the plane with her.  She also wondered how on earth they'd figured out their 30 inch measurement.

I CAN'T!!!

When Cole is having a face-off with some dinner item he doesn't like - broccoli or peculiar looking soup or spaghetti sauce with green stuff - he will often get a look of despair on his face. He will throw his arms up in exasperation and say, "I CAN'T EAT IT! I can't!"

We know exactly what he means.  But sometimes we will take this moment to be philosophical.  I know it's lost on him.

Mark will sometimes softly say, "Cole, In the Peron family we don't say can't".

And occasionally when Cole is complaining to me that he can't eat what's in front of him, I will reply, "Some days, you'll be shocked at what you're capable of!"

Goose

We were heading north on Woodview. I was pushing the double stroller and both kids were bundled up tight on a frigid March morning this week. Then we heard a "honk honk" overhead and we looked up and saw a lone Canadian goose flying north.

I pointed it out to Cole, "What's that, Cole?"
"A goose!" he shreiked happily.  Then he added, "..a baby goose" (which it most certainly was not).
"Where do you think he's going?" I asked.
Cole looked up wistfully and said, "He's trying to find summer."
